Unicorn Summit Volunteer Program

Frequently asked questions

Do you have to arrive a couple of days before the event date?

Yes. There will be some volunteer shifts in the days leading up to the event.

Unicorn Summit takes place in Lisbon, Portugal.

In order to volunteer, you must be 18 years old or older. All volunteers must bring ID with them in order to collect their accreditation. Any person under the age of 18 will not be granted access to the program or the event.

Unfortunately, we cannot assist you with obtaining a visa to come to Portugal, nor can we send you an invitation letter. That decision is entirely up to the government of Portugal.

First, let us know of your interest in the volunteer program, here: https://uae.unicornsummit.net/volunteers.

In the weeks leading up to the event, you will receive an email asking if you are still interested in the volunteer program. You will need to fill out a form to confirm your application.

Our volunteer management team will then begin the selection process. If selected, you will receive another email to choose your shifts.

Once you confirm your availability for those shifts, your Unicorn Summit volunteer position is secured. You will then receive the final information about your roles, including logistics for the event.

We would appreciate that you choose and complete a minimum of three full-day shifts (8 hours each). There is no maximum number of shifts you can do, and you can choose to do more if you want an immersive volunteer experience.

There are many areas where you can help at the event. You will receive more details from our team after you apply.

Yes. There are certain rules in place to ensure the smooth running of our volunteer program. These include:

  1. After you check in to your shift, please wait at the volunteer hub. A member of staff or a volunteer lead will bring you to where youre supposed to be. The volunteer team will make sure you are where you need to be at the right time.
  2. Please stay in your assigned role. If you need to take a break, speak with your team manager.
  3. As a volunteer, you are a representative of the event. Please behave in a professional manner while on your shift.
  4. Do not ask to take selfies with any speakers while you are on shift. This is strictly forbidden.
  5. If you need to make a call or use your phone, please do so when you are on your break.
  6. Make sure you wear comfortable footwear and clothing.
  7. We ask that you are flexible with our team, and open to changes in your role. Live events can be unpredictable at times, and we appreciate your support.

When you signed up to volunteer at Unicorn Summit, you agreed to our terms and conditions. Please review them as a reminder of the rules that are in place for volunteers.
